This chapter was about adapting, which to me means learning new situations. While the class focuses on Marketing strategies, and this book discusses the importance of knowing how to use the internet, and its tools to create a successful marketing campaign, I am using it to further my own cause.
Marketing is putting yourself out there to make new connections and reach people regarding your product. My product is me. I hope to work within the system to create better work environments for nurses, nursing assistants and other hospital workers to alleviate the concern of high turnover. Putting the importance of hospitals not only on the patients, but the key people that work to make the patients and their families lives better.
While I have already started on this journey, this book reminds me to do more. In that vain I have reached out to more nursing leaders who post interesting information on LinkedIn, and have followed and connected with a few. I have also been using it as a bit of a blog format for me as well.
And to quote Rosalind Russell as Auntie Mame: Life is a Banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death.
